The Sullivan County Sportsmen, a non-profit organization made up of hunters, fishermen, trappers and outdoor enthusiasts, are determined to preserve our wild resources for the enjoyment of present and future generations. Our members are committed to preserving our sporting heritage, including the right to hunt, fish, trap, and own firearms. An ongoing effort is required if we are to continue to enjoy the outdoors in it's wild arena within Sullivan County. The most important resource that the organization will ever have is its' membership. We remain vigilant in our search for members willing to contribute time, talent, and service.
Among the general welfare principles for which the SCS was formed, are the following specific purposes:
To provide the service, assistance and funding required to protect and ensure the retention of the American heritage of hunting,fishing,and trapping.
To protect and defend the right of every qualified citizen to acquire, possess, transport,carry, transfer ownership of, and enjoy the use of firearms; in order that the people may always be in a position to exercise their legitimate individual rights of self-preservation and defense of family, person, and property.
To promote legislation that will benefit wildlife resources, field sports, conservation programs, the right to keep and bear arms, and to oppose legislation that is harmful to same.
To initiate and participate in litigation where necessary to protect the American heritage of hunting, fishing, trapping, the shooting sports, and scientific fish and wildlife management practices.
